LIGHTWEIGHT INNOVATION

In an effort to simplify the construction and installation of the originally designed assembly, EMI modified an expensive, heavy steel frame system to instead be a light, innovative wood frame that could easily be installed with a small lift. The new design saved the client about one million dollars and weeks of installation time.

The re-engineered louver panels clip easily to vertical wood members through a simple cleat connection. There pieces were then fastened to custom metal hangers that were precisely secured to the concrete slab using the Trimble RTS Robotic Total Station Laser.
